Showing Up to Life - Mindfulness and Movement for Mental Health

Tuesday, May 23 | 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

We can't always change our circumstances, but we can change how we show up to them. This is a workshop about cultivating presence: receiving the pockets of peace in our days and moving through challenges more easefully. Mindfulness is cultivated through both stillness and movement. By practicing curious, gentle, and precise attention to the present moment we literally re-wire our brains and support ourselves to live with higher functionality, lower stress, more focused minds, and open hearts. You will leave this hour with practical, accessible, and universal skills to develop mindfulness in your everyday life.


Mindful Moments Mixer: A Joyful Goodbye to Mental Health Awareness Month

Wednesday, May 31 | 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Join us for the ultimate celebration of Mental Health Awareness Month at the Mindful Moments Mixer! The event kicks off with a wellness talk by Sarah Meyer Tapia. She'll be sharing insights on the connection between mindfulness and movement and how they positively impact mental wellbeing.

After the talk, we'll be grooving to the beats of Nina's Zumba session. Get ready to dance, sweat, and release all that pent-up energy. You'll leave feeling rejuvenated, refreshed, and ready to tackle anything that comes your way.

New to the gym or Stanford Recreation and Wellness facilities? Come to Fitness 101 to learn more about our fitness center’s equipment, amenities, and more! Our experienced fitness professionals will help set you up for success, including a guided full-body workout using selectorized machines and free weights.
