Pride, Planet, and Performance: A day with Pattie Gonia
Stanford Sequoia and Recreation and Wellness welcomed Pattie Gonia for a day of community, advocacy and celebration.
The event began with a Lunch & Learn session featuring student leaders from Residential Education, Outdoor Education, Cardinal Pride and other campus groups. The conversation focused on queer inclusion, sustainability and leadership.
In the afternoon, students joined Pattie Gonia for an open climb and photo opportunity, celebrating self-expression on the climbing wall.
The evening program included a “Hot or Not” paddle panel with student-athletes, alumni and outdoor leaders exploring the intersections of LGBTQ+ identity, environmental justice and athletics. A drag performance followed, featuring Stanford students, an alum and Pattie Gonia.
The day served as a reminder that joy, advocacy and outdoor adventure are for everyone.
