Our diverse range of Recreational Classes taught by experienced, certified instructors provides the opportunity to learn a new activity, no matter your skill level.

Recreational Activity Class Update

In order to best support our community's sense of belonging and well-being and to broaden access to our recreational activity classes, we are limiting participants to one class registration per activity program type. This applies to the following programs:

  • Tennis
  • Golf
  • Gymnastics
  • Olympic Weightlifting

Registration examples: Yes! You can register for one tennis class and one golf class. No...You cannot register for two tennis classes. We look forward to continuing to support your health, fitness, and well-being!

Gymnastics Clinic

Thought about trying gymnastics? Whether you're a beginner or have some gymnastics experience, our 4-week Gymnastics Clinic is designed to take your skills to new heights. No experience is required.

Redwood City

Pickleball Rec Class | 10-Week Program

Starting Thursday, June 29th to August 31st, every Thursday, 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM

Participants will learn the rules of pickleball, how to score pickleball and develop pickleball skills such as serving, hitting, volley, etc. Participants will receive one-on-one coaching by Coach David.

Yoga Small Group Training | 6-Week Program

Starting Wednesday, June 28th to Friday, August 11th, every Wednesday and Friday, 7:30 AM - 8:45 AM

Are you looking to build upon your yoga practice, or is brand new to yoga and looking to join a community? In this Small Group Training, you will work on movement, breath, balance, flexibility, and focus while practicing different forms of yoga and meditation.

Private Swimming Lessons

If you prefer one-on-one attention or would like an individualized program

We are not offering private lessons at this time.

Learn to swim for the first time or refine your technique with private swim lessons at Stanford. We offer private lessons to a wide range ages and ability levels under experienced swim instructors and certified lifeguards. Private swim lessons are for Stanford Affiliates that are 4 years and up. Due to popularity, there is currently a waitlist for lessons. To add yourself to this waitlist, please fill out the form below.

Private Swim Lesson Policies

  • Youth private swim lessons must be completed during Family Swim Hours only.
  • Private swim lessons are only offered at the Avery Rec Pool.
