Intramural Sports functions in two formats: leagues and tournaments. Both provide the opportunity for varying levels of competition, intensity of play, and skill level. See below for details on leagues and tournaments. Please note that formats are subject to change based on time restrictions, facility constraints, and registration.
Leagues
Intramural Sport offers over 20 Leagues, both individual and team sports, with a premiere sport being offered each quarter:
- Flag Football: Fall Quarter
- Basketball: Winter Quarter
- Soccer: Spring Quarter
- Softball: Summer Quarter
Each league typically consists of a four/five-week regular season, followed by a single-elimination postseason tournament. These leagues have no gender restrictions (“Open-Gender”). All games will be subject to change based on facility availability and weather. Games are not typically rescheduled unless deemed necessary by the Intramural Sports Office.
Divisions
- Open A: Highly Competitive - Skilled Competition for participants who want to compete at a highly competitive level.
- Open B: Competitive - Competition for skilled but not as competitive participants.
- Open C: Recreational - Players are competing at a recreational level that focus on learning and having fun in a non-competitive environment
Leagues and tournaments are on a first come first serve basis. Space is limited. We encourage all participants to register during the first day of registration. Subscribe to our newsletter to receive communications on quarterly registration dates.
